quick update

It's been a long time since my last post - things are very busy here! Q is crawling all over the place and he's just about unstoppable. He pulls himself almost all the way up now and has become a menace :-) M is crawling backwards and mostly content with whatever she is playing with. Both are sleeping 11 hours with Q waking up only once to eat. It's like heaven. I never thought we'd get to this point. They wake up at 5am to begin their day (now 6am with the time change) but we hope that moves a little later soon. Weekends are really hard on me when I'm taking 99% of the responsibility for 13 hours. I usually end up in tears at some point and I go to bed on the weekends when they do.

We've started swin lessens at the local YMCA - and it's so much fun! It really gives us something to do on Saturdays, and tuckers them out for their afternoon nap. My mom comes with me to help and it's been really fun.

Both are starting to tire of their Jumperoos....what is the next activity toy? We have toys scattered all over the living room for them, but I need something to contain them for a few minutes at a time. I guess one of those scooter things? Any ideas? The Jumperoos have been lifesavers for us and they have really enjoyed them for months. They both received walkers for Christmas, but they're both still a bit short to reach the floor in them.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Here are photos of my favorite people on their way to swim class:

sleep... oh sleep. Mine are going wacky again we can chat about that over sushi!!

The LO's look so sweet! And I love her hair!!!

My friend puts her twins in a pack and play that has toys hanging down (lowest setting obviously) when she needs them to be contained.

No idea about the next level toy tho.

The kids look adorable and so big! The pic of them together in their swim suits is really sweet - as is M playing with her toes!

When my son outgrew his doorway jumper, we were really concerned about where to "put" him when we needed a few minutes to get something done. We got a play yard (ie, an indoor fence) where he can sit, stand and play. Sometimes I just put him in his high chair and throw a few "puffs" (baby cheerios things) on his tray.

Thanks for the update! So good to see the babies and hear that heaven has arrived at your home!

Too cute! Love their little swim suits.

I don't think there's really a toy after the jumperoo, but I know a lot of people use a Playard system (gated area) to contain mobile babies/kids. I would give them a little bit of a break in the jumperoo and then maybe they'd be interested in it again? Our jumperoo is still in our living room and we rotate them between that and an exersaucer when we need a few minutes of containment. Otherwise, we don't really use them anymore.
