28 weeks 1 day down, 7 weeks 6 days to go!

Today marks 28 weeks 1 day and I am surviving one day at a time. I am so big now (in my opinion) that I waddle like a duck and grunt and groan when I get up from the couch or out of a cushy chair.

Today was a big day. My husband graduated from his EMBA program, 1st in his class, and I couldn't be more proud of him. I finished my MBA in 2002 and didn't really care about being 1st - I was just happy they let me in and let me graduate! lol He is a perfectionist and it's so wonderful to see him achieve one of his long time goals. He has worked like a dog for the past 20 years in a thankless job, with a horrible ex-wife who takes 25% of his income in child support and treats him like shit. While married, she never worked and he worked 90-100 hrs per week, many of those on international flights to God-forsaken shithole countries where he worked around the clock. When he sold his shares in his business 2 years ago, the profit allowed him to pursue his education and afford his child support while he did so. So, today I'm proud of my hubby for completing something FOR HIMSELF instead of toiling away and giving that bitch half of everything. He deserves this. This is something he never could have done being married to her, and something she can never take away from him. (God knows she tries to take more all the time.)

In other news, I also had an OB appointment today and the babies are each measuring 2lbs 12 oz! That's almost 3lbs each! no wonder my back is killing me! I'm a little nervous about this. On one hand, it's wonderful that they're so big already - it means they're measuring a little ahead and they have a better chance of surviving outside if I go into preterm labor. On the other hand, my cervis is Fort Knx and still measuring at a 4. Kara weights 8lbs 9oz at 37.5 weeks. I am going to 36 weeks with these guys-if they gain 1/2lb per week, that means they could weigh 7lbs each at 36 weeks. Holy crap! I can't physically carry 14lbs of baby + additional placenta weight - yikes!!! I am a little scared here. Glad they're doing well, but scared of overcrowding in there and being basically unable to stand up straight if I carry two-7lb babies. Yikes.

I'm trying to take belly pics but my arm doesn't get far enough from my body to get a full belly shot. I need to enlist my DH but I'm a bit embarrassed to ask. Hopefully in the next few days.

Oh I'd love to see a belly pic! I'm sure you look absolutely beautiful. Pregnancy is such a beautiful thing, even if for us it will always be so terrifying from now on (if either of us are ever lucky enough to be pregnant again, that is).

Well Done Kara's Mom and Dad!

Whatever you do, don't drop anything as it won't get picked up! You'll get your body slightly back to yourself soon!

Yay for hubby!

Twins tend to slow down in growth after 32 weeks - they grow rapidly before that - faster than singletons - but do start to slow down!

Wow, 28 weeks. So happy for you and your 2lb babies! Have you spoken to your OB about when they will be ready to come out? I think they don't want them over 7lb's at Corn.ell

Thinking of you
